Bougainvillea
Lisa writes~ I have a bougainvillea that is planted in the ground that I would like to move to a different location. It is about 10 years old and has been in the ground about 7 years. Can it be transplanted elsewhere and if so, when is the best time to move it? I live in Jacksonville, FL. Also any other advice you have for moving this plant would be really appreciated. A. Autumn is the best time to transplant this vigorous plant/vine. In your area, you could extend this period of time into winter. Dig deeply to maintain as much of the root system as possible. Expect the plant to drop all its leaves and go into dormancy. Cut water and food drastically. But, with the arrival of warmer air temperatures in spring, the plant will sprout anew and grow well all season with proper watering and fertilizing. Article Source - Article Monster.com |
